960 m² of efficiency and precision: Okuma Europe turns EMO into a showroom with live machining demonstrations
Accurate, efficient and easy to operate thanks to intuitive controls. Okuma's CNC machine tools meet the highest requirements of the manufacturing industry. The company will demonstrate this once again at the EMO in Hannover from September 22 to 26, 2025. In Hall 14, Booth D28, visitors will have the chance to see more than ten machines live, including exciting European and world premieres, spread over 960 m².
An innovation not to be missed is the MS-320H horizontal machining center. It enables the automation of various tasks, allowing longer run times without manual intervention. In addition, the vertical table arrangement and continuous clamping conveyor ensure high productivity without limitations. Another advantage is its small footprint and suitability for small and large batches.
Okuma customers will already be familiar with the LB4000 EX III horizontal lathe, but they will now have their first chance to experience its full configuration versatility at EMO 2025. On display at the show will be milling tools (M), an additional Y-axis and an optional sub-spindle (W). The latter allows for automatic workpiece transfer and full machining within one machine.
Among the 13 machines that Okuma will present at EMO are several enhanced classics, each demonstrating its advantages in any production environment. These include the multitasking machine MULTUS U3000, which can perform even complex machining with maximum precision. This is made possible by flexible 5-axis machining on the main and subspindles, a large workspace and an extensive tool magazine that can accommodate up to 120 tools. A second turret also reduces cycle times and increases productivity. At the booth, several processes will be demonstrated live on the machine, including stir-friction welding. This technology allows components to be seamlessly joined together, increasing flexibility and productivity by eliminating the need for external processes.
Okuma has several machining centers with 5-axis simultaneous machining in its EMO arsenal for fast and high-precision manufacturing processes. These centers perform vertical, horizontal and angular surface machining in one operation without manual intervention, maximizing productivity, process reliability and workpiece quality. This can be seen at EMO with the MU-6300V Machining Center. This 5-axis multitasking machining center enables fast, high-precision and process-intensive machining. The wide working area provides flexibility in machining a wide range of workpieces. To further increase productivity and efficiency, the machine is also equipped with a seven-station pallet changer. The GENOS M560V-5AX 5-axis machining center produces high-precision parts from a variety of materials with 60 tools and a 15,000 rpm spindle, 22 kW of power and 199 Nm of torque.
Efficient automation is also a key factor in the success of one of Okuma's bestsellers. The LB3000 EX III is considered one of the most advanced horizontal lathes for precision machining of individual parts and small to medium series. The machine's built-in ARMROID automation solution , with extended gripping range, further increases productivity. The 12-position turret also offers a wide range of machining options.
Various green smart technologies also help to decarbonize production. Numerous measures optimize energy consumption during operation, for example by putting unnecessary components into idle mode or switching them off. In addition, cycle times are shortened by simple adjustments, saving energy.
