247TailorSteel opens second factory in the Netherlands

'Smart' manufacturer of custom cut metal sheets, tubes and folding parts 247TailorSteel expands further. The company is to open a second factory in the Netherlands in Oud Gastel near Roosendaal. "We want to become the leading e-commerce player in the metalworking industry in Europe. As market leader in the Netherlands, we are now taking this important step to strengthen our position even further," said Carl Berlo, CEO of the company.

Just two weeks ago, the company announced the construction of its first plant in Belgium. Now 247TailorSteel the plans for the sixth location in Europe. In Oud Gastel, near Roosendaal, the first products should roll off the conveyor belt starting in early 2023. It will be the largest production location of 247TailorSteel until now.

"This move adds to our growth ambition and brings more capacity for our customers in the Netherlands and Belgium. Our goal is to offer our customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week the ability to order custom metal sheets, tubes and folding parts online. With this sixth branch, our goal of serving customers within a 200 kilometer radius is coming ever closer," said Berlo.

Factory of the future

The factory will be located in an existing building in the industrial park. To do this, the hall must first be converted so that it is sufficient for the innovative concept of 247TailorSteel. Remodeling has already begun and the plant is expected to be in operation in the first quarter of 2023. The plant covers 25,000 m² on a 40,000 m site² and will eventually employ 270 employees. 247TailorSteel has its own full range of machinery. In stages, sixteen laser cutting machines, ten tube lasers and sixteen press brakes will be installed here. The factories of 247TailorSteel are characterized not only by the latest laser machines, but also by a clean, bright working environment with plenty of green trees and high levels of automation. The internal logistics processes are carried out by AGVs (automated guided vehicles) that automatically transport the sheet and tube material to the support arm of the laser cutting machines. Solar panels have also been installed on the roof of the North Brabant plant.

International expansion

247TailorSteel has been the leading pioneer in the market since its founding in 2007 and now has a large loyal customer base. The in-house machinery currently includes more than 50 laser machines and more than 30 press brakes on a total site area of 115,000 m². 247TailorSteel is focused on strong European growth. In addition to the sites in Varsseveld (NL), Oyten (DE), Hilden (DE), Langenau (DE) and Hooglede (BE), plans are also being made for a production site in Austria and an additional site in Germany. In total, ten production sites will be operating by 2025. "Thanks to international expansion, we will be able to offer all our customers even more convenience and deliver our high-quality products even faster. In this regard, our online portal Sophia® plays the central role and allows customers to place their orders online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, receive a quote in one minute and have their product delivered within 48 hours," Berlo concludes.
