247TailorSteel started production at new facility in Hooglede

Twelve months ago 247TailorSteel, market leader in the Netherlands in the field of cut-to-length metal sheets, tubes and folded parts, arrived at its first Belgian facility. Production at this innovative manufacturing facility started on October 2. "With the arrival of the new plant in Hooglede, we strengthen our position in the market and offer more opportunities for our customers in Belgium, Luxembourg and northern France," explained Carl Berlo, CEO of the company.

Full in-house machinery

With the new production facility, the machinery of 247TailorSteel to more than 60 laser cutting machines, 50 bending benches and 20 tube lasers. On a site area of 17,000 m², four laser cutting machines, four bending benches, three tube lasers and two machines for edge finishing will initially be installed. The machinery will be expanded in phases. "Thanks to our own high-tech machinery and the online software Sophia®, our customers can place their orders online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, receive a quote in just one minute and have their product delivered within 48 hours," explains Berlo.

New jobs for the region

The construction of the new plant will initially create 100 new jobs and in the longer term about 250 employees are expected. "With the new production facility, a future-oriented industrial site has been realized here. 247TailorSteel will thus be an enrichment for Hooglede and for the region," said Hooglede Mayor Frederik Demeyere.

International expansion

247TailorSteel has been a leading pioneer in the market since its founding in 2007 and now has a large, loyal customer base. In addition to branches in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, there are also plans for production sites in other European countries. In total, ten production locations are to be active by 2025.
