Successful demo days

Demo days are an ideal opportunity to showcase machines. From October 25 to 27, all interested parties could discover what Germond has to offer. This supplier of high-quality metal working machines and tooling for the machining metal industry organized the biannual Demo Days in its showroom in Izegem. True to tradition, it was an informative event in an informal atmosphere. A formula that was clearly appreciated ...

Germond

The name speaks for itself: during the Demo Days, Germond informs customers and other interested parties with live demonstrations about the latest generation of machining machines. Commercial director Franky Grammens: "The aim is for everyone to have fun, but also to learn and network at the same time. That is why we had provided a lot of fringe entertainment, including an open bar, walking dinner and even a true music performance."

The 'star' of the event
Nevertheless, it was the machines that ran with the most attention. Not surprising, since Germond offers the cream of the crop for the metalworking industry. The crowd-pleaser was undoubtedly the Ibarmia Star CNC milling machine with pivoting column available in 2 and 3m. Grammens: "This is a five-axis machine center with a ready-to-mill configuration that takes up very little space. The Star features a fixed table of 3,000 x 850 mm and three rotary table options. Thanks to the application of torque motor technology, it offers speed combined with reliability."

Many more...
The CNC machines and lathes of the Korean manufacturer Doosan also attracted a lot of attention. As exclusive distributor for Belgium, Germond has a wide range on offer, including the popular Puma series. Furthermore, the drilling, milling and tapping centers of the Japanese company Brother were in the spotlight and the FAT teach-in lathes were also demonstrated. "Furthermore, visitors could get to know the column drilling machines from Spain's Iberdrill and the sawing machines from the Amada group," Grammens says. "Of course, there was also room for companies that specialize in machining tools. For example, Horn and Kennametal had a booth in our showroom, and the supplier of the AOF fog filter units was also on hand for three days."
