Demo days to experience simplicity steering at first hand

Metalworkers not only want to see machines but also feel and smell them. Crispyn Machines therefore changed its annual open days into demo days. From November 7 to 9, the third time in Maldegem, the chips will fall. Visitors can experience the simplicity of the ProtoTRAK control system and brush up their knowledge in various seminars. An event not to be missed for anyone with a heart for machining.

Crispyn machines is not at its experimental stage with its Demo Days. Managing director Jan Crispyn explains how the idea originated. "Like many companies, we annually put our machines in the spotlight during open days. But we noticed that our visitors were still a bit hungry. Anyone working in the metal industry wants to see chips falling. That is why we have been linking live demonstrations to it in our workshop for several years now. We will actually start making pieces on a lathe and a milling machine, so everyone can experience from the front row what our machines can handle." One of the crowd-pleasers has long been the ProtoTRAK control system, of which Crispyn Machines is an official distributor. It is a way to program workpieces via a simple diaolog control in no time at all. "We invite everyone to bring their own drawings and designs. In the showroom, we can then show live how quickly the piece can be programmed and produced."

New version: equally simple, additional opportunities

The ProtoTRAK control was specifically developed for prototypes, single pieces, small series and repairs. In the showroom, during the demo days, you can get to know the milling machines and lathes of XYZ that eagerly use the ProtoTRAK control. There will also be a machining center for those who already want to take a first step towards serial work. The main focus this year will be the new version of the control. "ProtoTRAK built name and fame through its simple dialogue control with which pieces can be programmed in no time. The ideal way for companies to take the first steps in CNC technology and continue to grow with the same number of employees. The new version builds on that simplicity but adds the ability to tailor the control to the user's needs. Those ready for the next step in CNC programming have, in effect, gained a host of capabilities in one fell swoop, without compromising the strengths of the control."

Visitors are invited to bring their own drawings. In the showroom, they will demonstrate live how quickly the piece can be programmed.

Standing amazed

One such possibility is adaptive milling, a milling strategy that is fast, requires less from the machine and makes full use of the milling machine. Immediately also the subject of one of the seminars Crispyn will give during the demo days. "In the workshop, I will explain where the added value of adaptive milling can lie and immediately show how this can be done directly from the ProtoTRAK control. You do notice that the interest around ProtoTRAK has grown tremendously in recent years. Many people are curious about it. Those still working conventionally will of course find plenty of potential in it to improve their production capacity. But even those used to five-axis machining will be amazed at what is possible with such a simple control." The demo days of Crispyn Machines are an excellent opportunity to go and satisfy that curiosity. During the seminars, thread cutting will also be discussed and people will be able to learn about the large range of milling cutters. Finally, a number of ex-demo models will be sold at very interesting prices.
