From the three main manufacturers, CMZ, Hartford and Hedelius, attractive machines will be on display that show how metalworkers can establish gains in efficiency. "These are brands that are already highly regarded in the Netherlands and also have great potential for Belgian metalworkers. This is proven by the great references we already have here," summarizes manager Richard Hermans.
With the Acura 50, Promas brings Hedelius' latest new model to the fair. "It is always difficult to choose which model to show. What makes this Acura 50 with Heidenhain control so interesting for the Belgian market is that this is an excellent, accurate five-axis machine, which is extremely well equipped even in the basic version and which also lends itself ideally to automation. German top quality, in other words," says Hermans. The automation solutions, whether for workpiece or pallet loading, are incidentally implemented from the side so that the front remains accessible to the operator. The extensive tool magazine, with as many as 180 additional tool slots, combined with the good chip trap, allows for process-safe work for long periods of time. "The machine has only just been introduced in Europe but we expect a lot from it because it is so compact and complete at a competitive price," Hermans adds.
Hermans: "With this current model we can show all the possibilities that CMZ has to offer: Y-axis, driven tools, spindle with counter-center execution ... In terms of technology, CMZ's lathes really offer the cream of the crop, while the price of these machines can keep up with anyone." The blacksmith's secret is mainly in the construction of the machines. The hand-scraped block guides, cast counter guides lay the foundation for the high accuracy that these machines can put down. "The cooling of components such as the motors further ensures that there are no temperature fluctuations that impact the workpiece. And the choice of built-in motors instead of a belt or gearbox drive ensures that no vibrations can be transmitted. In short, a machine that breathes quality in every detail. The standard Fanuc 31i or 32i control proves that CMZ plays along at the very highest level," Hermans says.
Promas will also show the Hartford HCMC-1270/0i, a common three-axis machining center equipped with Fanuc control, block guidance and gearbox gearing. Hermans: "What sets Hartford's machines apart is the choices the user gets. Nowhere else do you get so many different options within the same working range in terms of control, spindle, transmission ... So you can choose your machine according to your own applications, instead of having to adapt your pieces to your machine. This also applies, by the way, to Hartford's gantry machines. We see that this approach is clearly catching on in the Belgian market, with several recent references in different formats."
Finally, there is its own brand Promill. "The PMT-1050 comes to Machineering with linear guides a spindle of 12,000 rpm, in short a very complete machine, unparalleled on the market in terms of value for money. We will show a Siemens control system to show that we are at home in all markets," says Hermans. The stand will also feature a chip press. "That compacts the chips so the volume decreases and at the same time squeezes out the coolant so it can be reused and the briquettes with chips get a higher value." What is missing from the list are automation solutions. "Here, too, the range is particularly wide, because we can integrate both solutions from our own or other suppliers into the machines. We are therefore saving these for our open house day on November 3 and 4. Everyone is welcome in our spacious showroom in Maasbree then to become extensively acquainted with them," Hermans concludes.
