Over 6,000 visitors see latest trends at METAVAK and Welding Week 2022

Meanwhile, METAVAK and Welding Week 2022 are behind us again. "We look back on three busy days where the metalworking manufacturing industry of central and southern Netherlands came together in Evenementenhal Gorinchem. Because Welding Week took place simultaneously with METAVAK, visitors were able to immerse themselves in a total offer and, with one visit, be prepared again for the near future, both in terms of materials, machines and knowledge," says Mark de Jong on behalf of the organization.

Accessible and versatile

Over 6,000 people visited the exhibitions and walked around both METAVAK and Welding Week. During the exhibition visit, visitors discovered the latest machines and technologies and were able to interact with the more than 150 exhibitors who presented at this exhibition combination. There were participants in the fields of machining, sheet metal working, automation, cleaning and surface, 3D printing and joining. Many of them have already signed up for METAVAK 2023 and Welding Week 2024.

Their opinion is summarized in 'an accessible fair with ample opening hours and where you can also walk around a second time if necessary' and 'versatile technical fair with the new development for the manufacturing industry'.

Visits from students

Students were also welcome and could visit the Student Meet & Greet Area. In this area, specially organized by Metaalunie, they could come into contact with professionals from the field. Furthermore, they could use the Wall of Fame: the vacancy wall on which participants and visitors could post messages. Vacancies ranged from internships and graduate positions to jobs in the field.

In addition to providing information in the Student Meet and Greet Area, two theaters were running at the fairs. In collaboration with main knowledge partners SMITZH for METAVAK and NIL for Welding Week, speakers shared their knowledge with visitors, in sessions such as "How versatile is a welding robot?" by Timon Jongkind of SMITZH & Sustainability Factory and "The benefits of Augmented Reality (AR) in welding training" by Jurgen Vanwelsenaere of NIL & AMTC.

The next edition of METAVAK will be on October 10, 11 and 12, 2023 at Evenementenhal Gorinchem. Welding Week will return again on October 1, 2 and 3, 2024.
