Tielt, Vermako Plastic Greenhouses was created through the interest in construction and engineering by founder and business manager Jacques Maes.
The thriving company already has 25 years of experience in the production, construction and assembly of foil greenhouses, with no restrictions in width or length. Vermako is a metal construction company that offers its products tailored to customers' needs worldwide. Their customers are in agriculture, greenhouse construction, waste management, sorting companies, etc. One of their next projects is a 3 ha waste sorting center that will be roofed by Vermako.
The production is done entirely by Vermako which allows them to guarantee the execution of each project with respect for deadline and quality. For the assembly, which they perform in-house, Vermako has its own machinery for which they take care of the transport, as well as the delivery of all materials. The follow-up of the production and planning is done by Karl Maes, the second generation is thus a fact, and the future also guaranteed.
Vermako continues to invest in automating its production process. For faster and more accurate drilling and sawing of the many tubes and profiles used in the greenhouses, a new saw-drilling line of The Tollenaere purchased. The combination consists of a drill from Kaltenbach and a band saw from Meba.
Previously, the tubes were drilled and sawed manually which took a lot of time. Now the drawings are read into the drill-sawing line via the CAD-CAM system.
The tubes are loaded onto the machine fully automatically by means of a transverse conveyor. The automatic drilling machine can drill the tubes on 3 sides. They are then sawn to length on the Meba band saw machine, which can saw at both left and right angles. The finished products are pushed off on the discharge side onto the cross conveyor.
