247TailorSteel puts 'shovel in the ground' for new factory in Hooglede

On Sept. 20, the 247TailorSteel, the leading 'smart' manufacturerfor customized metal sheets, tubes and folded parts, officially launched the construction of its new production facility in Hooglede, near Roselaere. "With the construction of our new facility in Hooglede, we strengthen our position in the market and bring more opportunities to our customers in Belgium and northern France," said Carl Berlo, CEO of the company.

On this day, the incoming mayor of Hooglede Mr. Frederik Demeyere and CEO of 247TailorSteel Mr. Carl Berlo was present. During the official program, the shovel was actually put into the ground, thus giving the official go-ahead for the construction of this new facility.

Full in-house machinery

The new facility is expected to be fully operational in the fall of 2023. On a production area of 17,000 m² twelve laser cutting machines, ten tube lasers and twelve press brakes will be installed in phases. Thus, customers of 247TailorSteel in Belgium and northern France of even better service and even faster delivery. '247TailorSteel uses a full in-house machine park. Thanks to our self-developed Sophia® portal, customers can place orders online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, receive a quote within one minute and get their products delivered within 48 hours," Berlo said.

The leading pioneer with strong growth ambitions

247TailorSteel has been the leading pioneer in the market since its establishment in 2007 and has a large loyal customer base in Belgium as well. The ambition behind this expansion is to increase market share and production capacity for customers in Belgium and northern France and to achieve the goal of serving customers within a 200 kilometer radius. The new production facility in Hooglede is another great milestone and major step in this direction.

New workplaces in the region

Construction of the plant will ultimately create 250 new workplaces in the region. "With the new production facility, a future-oriented industrial site will be created here. 247TailorSteel will thus be an added value to Hooglede and the region," said the incoming mayor of Hooglede, Frederik Demeyere.
