Do-it-yourself cobot
Ever wanted to automate yourself? That is now possible with RoboJob's latest automation solution. Coby combines the brains of the company from Heist-op-den-Berg, secured in rock-solid software with an intuitive operating system, with the accessibility of a cobot. You can configure, place and use it all by yourself.
In the world of automation, cobots have been around for some time. Consequently, they are very compact, are relatively light and do not require much safety infrastructure. Their user-friendliness makes them accessible to everyone, not just engineers or technicians. That makes a cobot an excellent first step toward automation.
The idea prevails that you can very easily use the cobot arm itself to perform a movement, and the system can immediately keep repeating it independently. In reality, it's not all that simple. Contrary to popular belief, it does involve some programming. "We wanted to take that away, so that the end user can get started with a cobot in a really intuitive and user-friendly way. That's why we developed Coby," says RoboJob CEO Helmut De Roovere.

Coby, like all other RoboJob systems, is an automation solution for CNC turning and milling machines. It consists of a FANUC CRX-10iA/L cobot that can load and unload turning and milling machines without an interface. What makes it so special is that the customer can configure, place and use it all by himself. With this, the company from Heist-op-den-Berg wants to meet the demand for effective low-end automation.
Through a web shop, Coby can be ordered online. The website contains all the information needed to configure the right Coby system. When an order comes in, the people at RoboJob get to work. They assemble Coby completely, so that every cable is already in the right place when the system goes onto the truck. After delivery, the customer himself can get to work unpacking Coby, setting it up and starting it up. With the user-friendly RoboJob software, anyone, even with minimal technical knowledge, is able to automate the production process. There are no installers or training involved.
After an avant-premiere at the RoboJob Automation Team Day earlier this year, it is finally time to show Coby to the general public. He can first be admired in September at RoboJob's booth at AMB in Stuttgart, then Coby will steal the show at various other events and show how he can lift pieces of up to 5 kg in no time. Want to find out everything already? Or have you seen Coby at work and are curious to know more? Then take a look at www.coby-cnc.com and get to know Coby even better.
Or trek along with RoboJob to the AMB trade show. After all, RoboJob is not participating in this year's TechniShow, so the sales and marketing team went looking for an alternative event. Why not make something special out of the AMB fair? Together with current and prospective customers, our Benelux representatives set off for a three-day bus trip to Stuttgart. The useful is combined with the pleasant: in addition to a day and a half at the AMB fair, there is plenty of time to have a bite to eat together. The latter will take place, among other places, at the technology center in Lehrensteinsfeld, where attendees will be treated to a barbecue while exploring RoboJob's German location.
