Smart bending technology in the spotlight

Industry 4.0 is all about connecting manufacturing processes to minimize downtime. LVD's Ulti-Form robotic bending cell is a prime example of how to do it and the benefits it brings to metalworkers. The Dyna-Press Pro electric bending machine with Easy-Form® Laser angle measurement system also demonstrates the next steps in smart manufacturing. LVD also boasts its CADMAN suite, a complete family of software modules to program and streamline product flow.

LVD is taking smart, automated bending to a new level with Ulti-Form. The bending cell smoothly handles small and large runs with equal efficiency, high productivity and high accuracy. Ulti-Form goes quickly from art to part, from drawing to finished part, and requires no robot teaching. CADMAN-B automatically calculates the optimal bending program and imports all data into the robot software CADMAN-SIM. SIM calculates gripper positions and the fastest collision-free robot path and feeds this information back to B, so the operator only has to work with one program. So everything is automatically programmed, simulated and connected for cost-effective piece production.

Universal gripper

Another impressive element in this bending cell is LVD's universal gripper. It accommodates different geometries and automatically adapts to the workpiece dimensions. There is no need to invest in multiple grippers. No time is lost in gripper changes, either. Thanks to the adaptive bending system Easy-Form® Laser, the bending angles are also immediately correct. Ulti-Form combines a bending bench with 135 tons of pressure force with built-in tool changer and an industrial robot. They work in synergy to reduce changeover times. The cell bends pieces from 50×100 mm to 1,200×800 mm, weighing up to 25 kg, and was previously awarded the coveted Blechexpo award.

More pieces per hour - lower piece rate

The electrically driven bending bench Dyna-Press 40/15 Pro is your perfect bending partner. It efficiently bends small pieces at speeds of 25 mm per second. This results in more pieces at a lower price per piece. This 40-ton bending bench has a working length of 1,530 mm and an accurate five-axis back gauge for a range of applications. Equipped with Easy-Form® Laser, the machine guarantees the highest accuracy. Dyna-Press Pro is also part of a compact, robotic bending cell; the Dyna-Cell. Like Ulti-Form, Dyna-Cell is equipped with a unique gripper and programming is incredibly fast and easy. Because of the automatic programming, even less highly trained operators can operate both cells. With that, the goal of Ulti-Form and Dyna-Cell is obvious: to make robotic cells more affordable through standardization.

Software optimizes process flow

As manufacturers increasingly digitize and produce smart, LVD continues to drive the factory of the future with its integration philosophy and CADMAN® software. LVD presents all the CADMAN modules, with the latest software updates - all designed to improve process flow. The starting point is one central database that collects all data from the machine and offline. The CADMAN suite thus becomes an extension of the ERP program so that all info remains digital in production.
