FANUC Corporation, the world's leading supplier of CNCs, robots, cobots and factory automation has introduced the new CRX-5iA, CRX-20iA/L and CRX-25iA collaborative robots, the latest additions to its popular CRX series that also includes the CRX-10iA and CRX-10iA/L collaborative robots. FANUC will demonstrate all five CRX models at IREX (International Robot Exhibition), March 9-12, 2022 at the Tokyo Big Sight at booth E4-04, and at IREX Virtual, March 1-18, 2022.
"We see a high demand for collaborative robots in the European market and want to offer appropriate solutions for a wide range of applications. Our cobots are designed to support any type of manufacturer - small or large - to expand their production capacity with the highest reliability," said Shinichi Tanzawa, President & CEO of FANUC Europe Corporation.
The latest CRX cobots complement FANUC's existing line of CR and CRX cobots, which now totals 11 cobot model variants to handle products from 4 to 35 kg. This is the most comprehensive lineup of user-friendly cobots currently available on the market.
The rollout of the new CRX-5iA, CRX-20iA/L and CRX-25iA cobots, with payloads of 5, 20 and 25 kg and a maximum reach of 994, 1418 and 1889 mm, respectively, follows the CRX-10iA and CRX-10iA/L cobot models. These both have a payload of 10 kg and a reach of 1249 mm and 1418 mm, respectively. The five CRX models combined with FANUC's CR series of green cobots expands FANUC's capabilities to help more companies looking to automate with cobots.
FANUC's CRX cobots are safe, easy to use, reliable and a versatile solution for a wide range of applications, including inspection, machine loading/unloading, packaging, palletizing, sanding, welding, and more. IP67 protection level (dustproof and waterproof) is standard for all five CRX models, allowing customers to use them in even the most demanding environment. The CRX robots can detect external forces and safely stop when they come into contact with a person or object. This technology allows the CRX robots to work safely alongside people without the need for expensive shielding.
Most cobots have a lightweight and compact design - but the FANUC CRX cobots offer much more, including their great suitability for industrial environments and the fact that they are maintenance-free for up to eight years. In addition, interactive programming allows users to learn robot trajectories by moving the robot manually or via a tablet interface with drag-and-drop icons. The CRX can be operated with a standard 100V/240V power supply, and also includes energy-saving features that keep power consumption as low as 400 W (with 25 kg payload). The series supports several of FANUC's advanced features, including iRVision, and is perfect for any company looking to increase efficiency - even those taking their first steps into robotization.
"FANUC's CRX series offers the same intelligent features and reliability our customers have come to expect," said Ralf Völlinger, Vice President and General Manager of FANUC Europe's robot division. "In addition, their light weight, easy set-up and intuitive operation, make it an accessible robot, especially for novice users."
FANUC will begin shipping production units of the new CRX-20iA/L in April 2022. The CRX-25iA and CRX-5iA will be available in June 2022.
