Powerful, yet compact

The Laser Genius+ is available in three sizes - 1,530, 2,040 and 2,060 mm - and can be equipped with a laser source between 2 and 15 kW. With this system, Prima Power keeps the entire laser process under control and the laser cutting technology specialist guarantees maximum quality and reliability, regardless of the laser source used. To reduce cycle times, an excellent ratio between the robustness of the housing and the weight of the moving mass is important. Precisely because of this, the Laser Genius+ can squeeze out every ounce of power at any time. The new fiber laser head results in excellent cutting quality on all materials. It is designed to optimally manage the heat required to melt thick sheets while remaining cold and clean, thanks to sensors that actively control the cutting process in real time, a hermetically insulated optic, simplified mechanics and a highly efficient fume extraction system.

Unique layout

"Another important asset is the unique layout. We have always paid great attention to the accessibility of our machines, but with this Laser Genius+ we go one step further. The cab is available with large sliding doors that can be placed on the right or left side, even on both sides," adds the senior sales manager. "This extremely compact plug-and-play system with 24" screen and very fast installation times is characterized by a simple layout, combining all the technology in one dedicated module, separate from the workspace. The symmetrical and reversible layout allows this laser cutting machine to fit into any production environment without restricting logistical flows. Despite its compactness, this system still has a greater range than other 2D systems on the market. For example, the Laser Genius+ 1530 has a range of 3,150 mm, 1,600 mm and 150 mm on X, Y and Z axes, respectively, while the 2040 version has a range of 4,320 mm (X), 2,200 mm (Y) and 150 mm (Z)."

Smart technology

Laser Genius+ is the smartest machine Prima Power has ever produced. It can be easily linked to the other systems on the shop floor and integrated into production control software, optimizing efficiency and productivity. "We also integrated specific functions to continuously monitor the operation of the machine. For example, LISA (Light Intensity System Analyser) monitors in real time whether the process parameters are functioning correctly, and the Check Optics function can be used to manage the maintenance of the protective glass, minimizing downtime. Optionally, Tech Suites can be added, which further reduce cycle times while providing superior quality, thanks to the intelligent management of head movements and piercing and cutting parameters. The new automatic nozzle changer has twenty stations, so there is always a suitable nozzle available," Louagie clarified. "This laser cutting machine was also developed based on the concept of the Internet of Things from a SAAS (Software As A Service) perspective.   

For example, data about machine operation is collected and placed on a certified cloud. Our technicians use that information to monitor machine operation through the Remote Care web application and provide customers with suggestions to improve production and help resolve any unexpected problems."

Unmanned production

This 2D fiber laser cutting machine is suitable for 24/7 unmanned production. For example, the system comes standard with an automatic, all-electric pallet changer. It can also be easily combined with Prima Power's automation systems to automate material and machined part flows (loading, unloading, picking, stacking and storage) and further increase productivity. "Our Compact Server is suitable for unmanned production of serial work for short periods of time. If a third pallet is added, loading and unloading can be done both manually and via automation, increasing flexibility," Louagie concludes. "A Combo Tower Laser, available with one or two multifunctional and configurable towers, is an optimal solution for small and medium series production. Night Train, finally, is a flexible production system that automates the entire production process in one step, from planning to production reporting, ideal for 24/7 production."
