Metalworkers need to get better and better to stay competitive. In 2018, Amada pushed the boundaries of speed, energy efficiency and quality. Especially at EuroBLECH, the manufacturer proved that it is an absolute leader in the market of complete solutions for sheet metal working. Its innovative solutions that help make Industry 4.0 a reality played a leading role there in the huge range of novelties presented at this trade fair.
In turn, the Ensis-3015RI fiber laser with tube laser unit provides an unprecedented productivity expansion in flat plate and tube processing.
With the Ventis-3015AJ, Amada is the first in the world to unveil a new generation of fiber lasers that can cut stainless steel, aluminum and other materials with the quality of a CO2-laser. An innovative system oscillates the laser beam in the laser cut based on predefined patterns. Kurt Decroix, general manager Amada Belgium: "The result is a significantly increased cutting speed and a very precise straight cut, even when processing mild steel with oxygen. The surface roughness is unmatched and the burr can be almost completely eliminated. The unit has 4 kW of laser power and only one laser module."
The EML-2515AJ punching and fiber laser combination machine was presented for the first time at EuroBLECH.
Loading, unloading and sorting
At EuroBLECH, Amada also introduced a 6 kW and 9 kW version of its Ensis fiber laser. Like all other machines in this series, they combine variable beam control technology with an automatic collimator. Decroix: "This combination is ideal for achieving high productivity with automated applications. Automatic removal of spent pieces also goes a lot easier than with standard fiber lasers. This is due to a wider laser cut that these advanced Ensis technologies can provide."
Punch and fiber laser in one
With the EML-2515AJ, visitors to EuroBLECH received a world premiere. Indeed, it was for the first time that Amada presented this punching and fiber laser combi machine. The machine is equipped with Amada's own 3 kW fiber laser source and powerful electric punching capacity of 300 kN. "This is a very productive machine with special features," explains Decroix. "It has a PDC (Punch & Die Changer) that can hold up to 220 punch stamps and 440 dies. An automatic tool change is done in no time at all, drastically reducing setup and downtime. Further The EML-2515AJ includes an automatic nozzle changer with four stations and features The MPT (Multi-Purpose Turret) has a tapeenheid with four stations as well. If desired, the combi machine can be equipped with different (un)loading systems."

Faster flat plates and pipe processing
In turn, the Ensis-3015RI fiber laser with tube laser unit provides an unprecedented productivity expansion in flat plate and tube processing. This is due to the fact that Amada combines its Ensis 3 kW laser cutting technology with a Rotary Index (RI) tube and profile cutting system. In addition, the machine uses Variable Beam Control, allowing high speed processing of thin material and stable processing of thick soft material. Says Decroix, "The Ensis RI has evolved to include a dual, synchronous, clamping and high-speed Z-axis control. This drastically reduces run times and greatly increases productivity. The solution allows round, square and rectangular tubes to be processed, as well as U and L sections. Changing from flat plate to tube cutting is even done in less than two minutes!"
