Platform for the metalworking industry
Software specialist bets stronger on metal sector

TOPSOLID Belgium aims to support them with a complete CAD/CAM product that perfectly covers production needs. Indeed, the French software specialist with Belgian branch in Ternat is strengthening its focus on the metalworking sector with the hiring of a new business development manager, the development of the TopSolid'Steel software package and additional technical support from its headquarters.

CNC machines can be controlled from the drawing, increasing productivity while reducing the risk of errors.

TOPSOLID is one of the world's leading developers of integrated CAD/CAM software, including for the metalworking sector. The software house, headquartered in Evry, France, has more than 35 years of experience and is growing strongly through subsidiaries and distributors in Europe, Asia, America and Oceania. More than 800 employees worldwide are working every day to further develop TopSolid. After seventeen years as a distributor of TopSolid products, last year 4D Services was transformed into its own Belgian subsidiary, bringing the developer even closer to its Belgian customers.

Thanks to BIM integration and further developments of TopSolid'Steel, metalworking companies are ready for the challenges of today and tomorrow.

Additional investment in metal

"In the early years the focus for TOPSOLID was mainly on the metal processing companies, but gradually they started to concentrate more and more on the interior construction and yacht building sectors. TOPSOLID Belgium now wants to once again increase the software's market share in the metal sector and further expand the services around TopSolid. This includes additional investments in the operational operation and development of the CAD/CAM software TopSolid'Steel," says Jasper Steylaerts, who recently joined the team in Ternat as the new business development manager and focuses mainly on contacts with metal processing companies. "In recent years I have built up a lot of experience in sales and service, including in logistics. This is how I came into contact with many customers from the metal processing industry. So that sector is no stranger to me. TOPSOLID's software was totally new to me though, but thanks to the expert support of the specialists in France and Belgium, I mastered it in no time."

Drawing software for steel structures

In 2020, the software house launched a new drawing software for steel structures on the French market with TopSolid'Steel. This year, it plans to roll out this repackaging of modules aimed at the metal sector on the Belgian market as well. This easy to learn and use software optimizes the entire production process: from design and work preparation to production. "The integrated library, which includes all standardized metal profiles, such as pipes, angle profiles, flat laths and construction profiles, as well as screws, bolts, nuts and other components for mechanical connection, allows users to quickly complete projects," Steylaerts explains. "TopSolid has extensive BIM integration, which will become the norm in the metal sector within five to 10 years. That full BIM integration along with further specific developments make TopSolid'Steel a software that allows metalworking companies to be ready for today's challenges, but also for the future."

Other CAD/CAM packages

In addition to TopSolid'Steel, the software specialist obviously offers many other software packages for applications in the most diverse industries. Among them we also find TopSolid'Sheetmetal, a fully integrated CAD/CAM solution for the design and production of sheet metal, specifically from unfolding the sheet material to controlling CNC punching machines, laser cutting machines
and machining centers.
