New standards for laser part deburring

Recently, the Baden-Baden-based company presented an absolute first: the EgdeBreaker® 6000. A deburring machine for universal use for machining laser-cut and punched parts. But ARKU is also setting new standards in automated sheet metal processing with an autonomous line for deburring and rounding plasma parts. So it should come as no surprise that for years there has been an intensive cooperation with V.A.C. Machines representing them in Belgium.

ARKU is keen to keep raising the bar in sheet metal working. With its newest member, the universal EdgeBreaker®, it once again succeeds in that mission. The machine deburrs and rounds surfaces particularly evenly and powerfully. The machine uses three processing units: a grinding belt for deburring, rotor brushes for rounding and an additional unit for surface finishing. Together they make this deburring machine the most universal in the range. Best possible completion

The heart of the machine is a rotor. Thanks to the rotating brushes, the best possible rounding of inner and outer contours is achieved. Still need additional surface treatment? With the integrated unit, parts can be finished to perfection. The operating concept of the EdgeBreaker® 6000 also catches the eye. The controller itself suggests the appropriate settings based on the parameters of each part and the desired results. In this way, the operator gets all the support he needs and you are assured of efficient operation. Furthermore, the machine measures brush wear and tool condition so that it can automatically compensate.

Powerful technology for automated sheet metal processing

ARKU is working not only on the best possible stand-alone machines, but also on automated systems. During the information days, it proudly presented a new line that can deburr and round plasma and oxycut pieces. The line includes an EdgeBreaker® 5000 slag hammer and an EdgeBreaker® 4000 deburring machine. The former will remove all slag that has formed on the pieces after the cutting process. To prevent the parts from twisting, they are treated from below. This machine is flanked by the EdgeBreaker® 4000 that removes the remaining burrs and rounds the edges on both sides in one step. Its trademark feature is a powerful deburring roller. The large diameter combined with the soft surface ensures that the sandpaper presses firmly against the edge during deburring. The rounding brushes then process the plasma or oxyfuel cut parts in one pass both at the top and bottom.

The line includes an EdgeBreaker® 5000 slag hammer and an EdgeBreaker® 4000 deburring machine. By seamlessly blending the two processes, your employees do not have to perform heavy and dangerous work.

Advantages of autonomous line

By seamlessly merging the two processes, your employees do not have to perform heavy and dangerous work. Manual turning and grinding, which caused high stress on joints, is now a thing of the past. Even when loading and unloading, the line does not require manual work. A camera-equipped robot accurately picks up the parts, loads them onto the roller conveyor and stacks them back onto a pallet at the end. This efficient way of working enables enormous savings, including in your production process.
