FRAIPONTS Metaalbewerking from Zonhoven is joining the fight against the corona virus. The company is working overtime to enable rapid distribution of the various vaccines. "Today we are delivering components for Limburg machines needed for the rubber seals of the syringes. In this way, we are doing our part in the fight against this pandemic," said Managing Director Davy Fraiponts.
FRAIPONTS Metaalbewerking has already been known for 3 generations as a specialized metalworking company where high-quality machining operations are performed. In the Zonhoven company, prototypes, single pieces and small series are produced every day for various sectors.
The corona crisis made the medical sector a top priority for the company. Fraiponts: "Although this sector is not completely new to us. We have been producing aluminum parts for test equipment since 2011. This production recently experienced an enormous boost. It was a feat to double this production in a short period of time."
Today, after the race between different pharmaceutical companies, it appears that many potentially useful vaccines have been developed. Still, the logistical challenge remains enormous. "As a result, we have expanded our range even further and today we are also supplying specific components to Limburg machine builders that take care of the rubber sealing of the vaccines. In this way, we help ensure that the distribution of the vaccines is expedited."
The growth company with an eye toward the future in high-end manufacturing continues to look for additional employees to bring these and other challenges to fruition. "From CNC millers and CNC turners over work planner-calculator to CAM engineer, any talent is welcome," concludes Davy Fraiponts.
