Mesh walls increase safety in production and warehouse

Safety is an important issue, especially in the metalworking sector. Whether it is a production area or warehouse, people, machines and products must always be optimally protected. For more than 65 years, Troax has specialized in developing innovative solutions with steel mesh panels for machine guards, warehouse partitions and property protection. The manufacturer from Hillerstorp, Sweden, combines mesh, polycarbonate or solid sheet panels, uprights and fastening systems into flexible, modular safety walls.

Products such as the mesh panels, the Rapid Fix quick disassembly system and the Safe Lock are designed to provide safe and flexible machine guards for everyone. They meet the strict requirements included in the European Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. The panels are tested with energy levels as high as 2,500 joules and the welded joints can withstand severe impacts. "A wall is standard between 1,400 and 4,250 mm high with panels in eight different widths between 200 and 1,500 mm, but those panels and uprights can also be customized to achieve the desired dimensions," says Sigrid Herbosch, sales and marketing coordinator Benelux. "In addition, we offer swing, folding, sliding, telescopic and linear doors with a choice of multiple locks, including our own Safe Lock, which is compatible with different types of safety switches."

A partitioning system is made up of mesh panels or full plate panels, possibly in combination with a door. Such a wall system has a standard height of 2,200 or 3,000 mm, but can be up to 6,600 mm high in a free-standing arrangement and even higher when attached to an existing roof or building structure. "These modular walls, with or without mesh ceilings, are used for partitioning warehouses, but also for protecting server rooms, among other things," Herbosch adds. "Our fall-through protection based on steel brackets and mesh panels with different mesh sizes can be combined with a wide variety of pallet racks. This solution prevents goods from falling off pallets in warehouses."
