Traditions should be honored. They do that well at Welda. That is why on October 17 and 18, the specialist opened its doors to customers, students and all interested parties from the welding and metal industry. More than 1,500 visitors found their way to the showroom in Ghent. During these days, Welda and Welda Machinery were transformed into an exclusive demo center with demonstrations of, among other things, the latest digital welding equipment, machines, plasma cutters, welding and clamping tables and Augmented Reality welding.
The demo days were once again a hit with more than 1,500 visitors. It is the time for the Welda team not only to show the latest products, but also to listen to the customers in order to further address their needs and wishes in the future. While in the morning schools and larger groups were given tours or training, in the afternoon the doors were opened to the general public. During the demo days, both the Welda showroom and the Welda Machinery showroom were used to demonstrate the arsenal of welding supplies, machines and tools.
Welding specialists gave continuous demonstrations with the latest equipment and accessories.
More than 100 machines were presented at Welda Machinery: plasma cutting machines from Escco and Sommer, band and circular sawsmachines from Macc and Pegas, bending benches and plate shears from Baykal, bending machines from Jutec, column drills from Alzmetall and punching machines from Sahinler. The various suppliers and Welda's technical advisors gave tips & tricks, showed how to optimize a workshop and were always on hand to answer questions.
In the Welda showroom (welding supplies & tools), visitors could see professional tools such as drills, saws, sanders and welding equipment in operation and test them for themselves. For example, welding specialists Weco and Kemppi gave continuous demonstrations with all kinds of welding equipment. This year, the focus was on digital welding equipment: the Weco Power Pulse 505d Full Digital and the Kemppi X8. These revolutionary machines feature the most advanced programs. There were also extensive demonstrations of Weco's new EVO-TIG series and Kemppi's new MasterTig series. The latest plasma cutting equipment from house brand Leon was also highlighted. During these open days, visitors could get to know new hydraulic welding tables and tools from Siegmund. Constructions were put together to demonstrate how functional and time-saving these tables are. Binzel was on hand with their extensive range of torches and with a solution for digitizing welding operations by means of a robotic arm. Bymat demonstrated how to clean a weld seam, polish stainless steel surfaces and mark or etch on current-conducting metals. At Tag-Pipe, visitors could see all kinds of equipment for tube, pipe and sheet metal processing in action, BSK gave late-night demos with their stud welding equipment and Soldamatic showed one of the latest developments in the welding world: Augmented Reality welding. This method of welding is very cost effective and speeds up the learning process of welders in training.
Recently, in cooperation with the VCL, Welda has started offering customized, hands-on welding training at the brand new welding training center Welda Academy.
