Since 1996, BUN Engineering has been the exclusive importer of high-quality machine tools from Japan, Italy and Taiwan for the Belgian, Dutch and Luxembourg markets. Specializing in milling, turning and precision turning, this dynamic company places a high priority on service and offers turnkey and fully personalized solutions. From design to installation, customers can rely on the expertise and know-how built up through the successful completion of nearly 700 projects to date.
BUN Engineering started as an importer of horizontal turning centers of the Japanese brand CITIZEN, within the Cincom range. Not much later, the company entered into a partnership with BIGLIA, an Italian manufacturer of universal lathes. In addition, it continued its cooperation with CITIZEN and also introduced the Miyano range. BUN Engineering also developed its expertise in the milling sector by partnering with AKIRA SEIKI and HURON, manufacturers of vertical machining centers. In this way, the company wanted to meet the demands of its growing customer portfolio. With each new project, the company strengthens its expertise, allowing it to rightly call itself the market leader in precision turning. "We operate in a niche market. To distinguish ourselves from the competition, our strategy is entirely focused on providing high-quality services, entirely in the spirit of the philosophy of our partner-suppliers, who have placed their trust in us," said Vincent Bedin, sales manager Benelux of the family-owned company. "It is also important to gain the trust of our customers. Most are operational day and night and cannot afford to compromise their production. More than half of the team is therefore made up of technicians and technical-commercial employees whose expertise provides the added value that makes the difference. Our motto speaks for itself: "From A to Z, we deliver tailor-made turn-key projects. In other words, we deliver all-encompassing solutions, fully customized for the customer," Vincent continues. And that applies to all sectors, regardless of the complexity of the project.
BUN Engineering does more than supply machines, equipment and accessories. The road that eventually leads to a "custom made" solution involves several essential steps: analysis and advice, study of cycle times, test cuts, programming, preparation, transportation, installation, repairs and maintenance. Ron Van Els, technical engineer for Benelux, tells us more about this: "The first question we ask the customer concerns the type of production the customer has in mind and the time needed to produce the parts. So our analysis aims first of all to establish a cycle time, which is essential to determine the price of the final product. This is followed by a testing phase to verify that the intended cycle time is actually achieved. On this basis, we suggest the most appropriate machine and equipment, depending on what is available on the market."
"We want to offer our customers a comprehensive solution with the best possible service," Vincent explains. "We strive for long-term partnerships, not only with our suppliers, but also -and most importantly- with our customers. Our relationship is based on mutual trust. For each project, we want to demonstrate our ability to prepare, assemble, install and maintain the appropriate technical solution -that perfectly meets the customer's specific needs. Regardless of the complexity of the project. We love challenges and take responsibility for the technical choices we make based on our expertise and experience," Vincent clarifies.
From the first contact with the customer, the company demonstrates a drive to provide the customer with an appropriate solution. With some 40 years of experience in the machining sector, Ron van Els enjoys sharing his expertise during his many visits to the end customer, listening, giving advice, making adjustments or changes and evaluating. "For very complex projects, we study the customer's entire production chain to assemble a machine perfectly suited to the various tasks to be performed. The aim is to optimize the production process to arrive at the most efficient, sustainable and cost-effective technical solution," Ron said.
This, of course, requires solid expertise, flexibility and high responsiveness. "The brands we represent are reliable and of high quality, and that is a first indication that customers can rely on our company. But our services go much further. Parts are delivered quickly, and when technical intervention is needed, our qualified and experienced technicians arrive on site in less than 48 hours. Because unlike large, unwieldy companies that are not as close to the customer, our team always responds very quickly. High-quality service is our absolute priority and we make every effort to implement an organizational structure that matches our ambitions," Vincent concludes.
