Digital twins of tool holders

DIN 4000 is already well established in the tool sector. Now comes the next step in the digitization of tool management: starting now, SCHUNK is making the data of its standardized precision tool holders of the hydraulic expansion tool holders TENDO, the polygonal clamping technology TRIBOS and the expansion tool holder SINO available free of charge as Digital Twins in standardized format based on DIN 4000.

As a leading manufacturer of gripping systems and clamping technology, SCHUNK thereby ensures data consistency throughout the entire CAD/CAM process chain and creates ideal conditions for simulations, collision observations and workshop management. Whereas previously users had to manually add each tool holder to their tool management systems, for example by adjusting layers and coordinate systems, all data are now in standardized format and thus available for use immediately after downloading from the SCHUNK website. Soon this will also be integrated with current tool databases, such as ToolsUnited and MachiningCloud.

Streamlining the process chain

Enter some details about the interface, clamping diameter, protruding length and clamping technology. The application now provides a clearly structured list of all relevant toolholders from the most comprehensive range of German toolholder technology. With the Quickfinder, the catalog offers mechanical toolholders from the SCHUNK Basic segment, hydraulic expansion toolholders with optimized cost-benefit ratio from the Economy segment and numerous polygonal, hydraulic expansion toolholders from the Premium and Tech segments. At the touch of a button, the free online tool provides information on suitable clamping solutions.
