GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS, NEWCAST 2023 - megatrends leave mark on trade fairs and trade program

The World of Metals can finally look forward to another special event. The trade fair quartet of GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST 2023 - known as The Bright World of Metals - will bring together entrepreneurs and managers from the international steel and aluminum industry, foundries and metal processing under the roof of Messe Düsseldorf from June 12 to 16.

Megatrends show the challenges

With the goal of being climate neutral by 2050 at the latest, the industry is facing the biggest transformation in its history. What developments are occupying the metal industry and what innovations are offered by metallurgical machine and plant builders will be the theme of all four trade fairs and the comprehensive trade program. From discussions with experts from all segments of the value chain, the following global trends, which will substantially influence the future of the industry, have been identified:

- Sustainability (energy and resource efficiency).
- Decarbonization
- Industry 4.0 in steel mills and foundries (the use of digital technologies in production)
- Additive manufacturing (within steel and metal processing)
- Lighter construction materials within the automotive industry

ecoMetals - welcome to the future

An integral part of the Bright World of Metals and a model of success for some time now, Messe Düsseldorf's ecoMetals campaign is the first of its kind. Covering the ecological route of foundries and metal processing industries, the campaign challenges exhibiting companies to invest in innovative, sustainable and economically competitive technologies. Fair visitors can easily identify these specific innovations and are guided to the selected exhibitors at GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST by daily free guided tours - the so-called ecoMetals Trails.

All for one ticket

The four international technology trade shows cover all production routes and processing for iron and steel, aluminum and magnesium, copper, zinc and other NE metals. One of the exhibition focal points for the traditional foundry industry is GIFA, the 15th international foundry trade fair with technical forum. NEWCAST is the world's leading platform for custom castings. At the METEC metallurgy trade fair, exhibitors present state-of-the-art installations and setups for the production, casting and forming of steel, cast iron and NE metals, for electrical and conduction technology, measurement and control technology, environmental protection and waste disposal. At THERMPROCESS, the international trade fair for thermoprocess technology, the trade public can obtain information about ultra-innovative technologies and environmentally conscious concepts for industrial thermoprocess plants over five exhibition days.
