Fast rotary motion in a small space. These are often the specific requirements for pinion bearings in automation or stage technology and also in control panels. For such compact applications, igus has now developed a new series of medium-load pinion bearings. The spherical roller bearings are not only maintenance-free and wear-resistant, but thanks to the use of high-quality polymers, the installation height is also reduced by 50 percent and they are 60 percent lighter, saving the user 20 percent in costs.
High cycle speeds and loads, for example in welding systems, index tables or in the packaging industry, are extremely demanding for toothed ring bearings. In order to withstand this, igus has had slewing ring bearings in its product range for 15 years. The iglidur polymer gear ring bearings from (PRT) feature radial and axial sliding elements between the inner and outer rings of the bearing, which are made of aluminum or stainless steel. The maintenance-free sliding elements made of the high-performance plastic iglidur J, ensure that friction and wear are minimized, without the use of lubricants. The high-performance plastic can withstand a maximum surface pressure of 35 MPa. In addition, igus has versions that meet FDA and ESD regulations with no minimum order volume. igus has now developed the new PRT-04 series, allowing users to use sprocket bearings even in compact plant spaces with minimal stress. 50 percent space and moving mass can be saved by using them compared to the PRT-01 series with an inner diameter of 100 millimeters. Even compact applications can be implemented, for example, in automation technology, in sorting systems, as well as in control panels and even in stage and lighting technology. Thanks to the new slim type, users save 20 percent of their costs.
The new PRT-04 series is available directly from stock with inner diameters from 50 to 300 millimeters. In addition, igus also offers a wide range of accessories for pinion bearings. From drive pin, variable rotation limit and toothed ring to the clamping lever. The new sprocket bearings have also proven their longevity in the company's 3,800-square-meter test laboratory. The data collected in the tests are integrated into the iglidur PRT gearbox configurator, allowing the customer to quickly select the right gearbox bearing and calculate the service life in the individual application.
