Top segment machines

The company has its origins in the Netherlands, but has been operational in Belgium since 2015. The branch was started by Patrick Vaessen and Paul Kuipers, who have since seen their staff increase to 10 people. The Belgian branch operates completely autonomously and has its own service and sales department and its own showroom, but is backed up where necessary by the Dutch parent company, with which the company still cooperates closely. 

Patrick Vaessen: "BENDERTECHNIEK specializes in the sale of top - end turning and milling machines. A real niche market where there is a lot of automation and pallet loading. Furthermore, we also specialize in the dimensionally larger machining machines, with lengths from 4 to 20 m long for the milling machines, and turning diameters of more than 1 m and up to 6 m between centers for the lathes."

However, high-end also means that BENDERTECHNIEK in Belgium has a line of smaller machines in its range designed for higher productions within a 24/7 cadence. Machines that are very often also offered with pallet loading. To that end, the company maintains excellent dealerships with some of the top brands in that industry, such as Matsuura and Muratec, among others.  

The power of good service

Patrick: "There is a clear movement toward the 5-axle on the one hand, and far-reaching automation on the other, which is increasingly seen as standard. Customers are buying automated functionality in all its forms and with all the attributes that come with it. One of them is certainly that very important after-sales -potential that you must have in place today as a machine dealer. After all, downtime is a scourge to the productivity of a line."

Clientele

With customers from the aerospace, defense, offshore and semiconductor industries, the sales market of BENDERTECHNIEK is very diverse. A broad customer base that was built up primarily through rock-solid service and know - how. After all, the company is not tied to certain fixed brands, so it can really go in any direction for robot-machine combinations, for example. BENDERTECHNIEK is not a manufacturer's dealer, which determines the strength of the company. Although the brand is determined at the end of discussions with the customer, conceptually the approach is always the product. Towards the manufacturers, however, we only work with exclusive dealer contracts. 

"An important downside is that this way you also have to keep your people up to date in terms of know - how," Patrick explains. "That's why we invest on a very regular basis in endurance training for our people in Japan, England and also Spain."

Proprietary cobot loading unit

The technical team at BENDERTECHNIEK in Belgium made good use of the free time offered by the pandemic recess, and developed in-house a compact robotic solution intended for the simple loading of smaller CNC machines. This is the cobot BT-TM12, a mobile unit that operates deliberately stand - alone from a special cabinet, thus interfering minimally with the functionality of the machine. 

The creation of the cobot was primarily prompted by the independence from any machine manufacturer, and of course the customer's demand to be able to continue working unmanned for several hours after shift hours. The operation of the BT-TM12 can be easily learned in one day, thus providing a good and, above all, affordable alternative to a fully robotic solution.
