Minimize maintenance costs with advanced wear protection

Castolin Eutectic, founded over one hundred years ago in Switzerland, has become a leading player in maintenance, surface protection and special joining technologies, using welding, brazing and coating. These technologies are crucial for addressing wear problems in heavy and wear-intensive industries, such as waste and recycling, steel or cement.

Recently, the company introduced the EnDOtec® DO6070N welding wire. This new product, launched from its plant in Dublin, Ireland, marks a significant advance in the fight against extreme temperature wear, erosion, and corrosion. The EnDOtec® DO6070N has been specifically developed to provide significantly longer life for components such as sinter crushers in the steel industry and furnace feed screws in waste-to-energy plants. With a metallurgical microstructure that provides optimal resistance to wear and heat, this alloy retains its properties up to 800°C, even under demanding conditions.

6070N alloy in welding wire form

By making EnDOtec® DO6070N available in welding wire form, Castolin Eutectic opens up new possibilities for using this alloy during robotic welding, which can significantly improve the efficiency and productivity of wear-sensitive operations. It highlights the company's core mission of extending the life of industrial components and reducing maintenance costs, while also contributing to more sustainable industrial practices by giving parts a second life and minimizing the need for replacements.

High-quality welding without chrome and nickel

This year, Castolin Eutectic launched EnDOtec® Safe-Hard 700. This advanced, gas-protected metal core alloy wire is perfect for both mass production and maintenance and repair work that requires welding of the highest quality, efficiency and productivity. This wire is distinguished by the absence of chromium and nickel, which increases safety for welders and reduces welding fume emissions. It has remarkable durability against impact and abrasion and maintains its mechanical robustness even under severe temperature conditions (57 HRC at 600°C; 41 HRC at 700°C). In addition, it is distinguished by its minimal carbon footprint, less than half compared to traditional Cr and Ni-based alloys.
